Having troubles with your thread? Read on for some helpful tips!
- Check thread path, re-thread the machine
- Replace the needle and verify that the scarf the throat of the machine
- Use larger needle size to reduce needle deflection
- Check top and bottom tensions
- Clean under the tension spring on the bobbin case
- Bobbin thread not in tension spring delivery eye
- Thread not on check spring
- Moving too fast for the needle speed
- Turn thread cone/spool upside down or change to horizontal spool holder
- Put nylon sock on thread cone
- Try a silicon lubricant
- Center the thread cone directly under the guide
- Spritz thread with water and refrigerate or freeze for several hours
- Loosen pick-up roller
- Check hopping foot position
- Check to see if check spring is broken or in the wrong position
- Polish hook point with a fine 800 grit emery cloth
- Check pick-up roller height
- Check if thread is wrapped around wheels
