Developed by Linda Thielfoldt, these serpentine edge tools provide both a straight (with multiple repeats) and matching corner and come in two sizes. Each ruler has a different curve on both edges offering you a total of 4 different sized serpentine lines to work with.These can be used for:
- The basis for a feathered border using both the straight and corner tools – the sizes give you the option for many different sized borders
- Appliqué vines – the nice curvy lines offer the perfect stem for borders or blocks and will help keep them consistent
- Dividing a very large border – put feathers on one side and straight lines on the other
- A double spine for a feather – there are marks to help keep the spine straight and even
- Trimming the edges of your quilt – a nice curvy serpentine edge can add so much to a quilt – no more marking or drawing – you can use the tools with your rotary cutter
- The corner tool can be used as the basis for a block design – so many possibilities
- The small straight tool can be used for sashings or skinny borders due to the shallower curves
- The possibilities are endless!
